Charles ~

Charles is fourteen years old with red hair, blue eyes and a great sense of humor.  He loves animals, sports, pizza, and going to camp!  One of Charles’s best qualities is his caring and thoughtful nature.

Charles is starting his first year of high school and could not be more excited! He is developmentally delayed and works hard in class to improve his math skills.  Every day he practices telling time and counting money, skills that will make him more independent in the future.

Charles is a 12 year-old youngster in the 6th grade.  He enjoys all of the usual things that young boys like to do.  He likes to spend time watching sports and playing basketball!  Charles says his perfect night would be watching a movie and eating pepperoni pizza.

Charles has an adventurous side and an abundance of energy.  These qualities can be challenging in school but he has found that that a classroom with a small student-teacher ratio is the best fit!  With this accommodation he is able to concentrate and work on his speech and grammar skills.

Akio is in the seventh grade, but sometimes it’s a struggle to maintain his grades.  He has the most difficulty with math, spelling and grammar.  These challenges have been compounded since losing not only his family, but also the stability of one school for an extended period of time.

Like so many youngsters in foster care, Akio has had a tough past.  The benefits of finding a permanent, adoptive family would make all the difference.  A family with the patience to spend quality time with Akio is his number one wish.
