Waiting Families

Lisa and Chad
Hi – We are Lisa and Chad.
We are thankful that you are considering adoption as you make one of the hardest and most courageous decisions of your life. We both believe there is purpose and meaning in all of life’s struggles and pray you find guidance, peace, and comfort with your adoption decisions.
Our marriage is built on love, respect, trust, and consideration for one another. We are a happy and active couple and live in a nice neighborhood on a cul-de-sac street where all of our neighbors have children. Our home is warm and inviting, and friends and family frequently join us for back-yard barbecues and evenings spent chatting amongst the tiki-torches and lightning bugs. Our two dogs, a ten year old Shih-Poo and 2 year rescued Border Collie mix, love to entertain and are always ready to greet guests with a wag of the tail and a lick of the tongue, while Magic, our cat, watches from her perch!
As a middle school teacher, Lisa’s professional life has been centered around children for the last fourteen years. She genuinely enjoys getting to know her students and also wants them to know her as a person. She has taken a group of students to Spain, met up with kids for group movie day, and even had a few of her students “crash” our wedding, just to say hi and wish us luck.
Chad is in sales, and he works with students and schools every day. He is home every night and cannot wait to play catch in the backyard and to share all of the things he learned as a kid – from playing soccer to hiking and camping in the woods. He is excited to share these things with a child, boy or girl, as we both believe that a child should be well rounded and presented with every opportunity.
Because both of our jobs revolve around the school calendar, we look forward to taking time off at Christmas to see our family, as well as the spring breaks and summer vacations we will be able to share. We both enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with our families. Vacations include beach weeks with our families, fall weekends with friends in the mountains, visits “back home”, touring regions of our nation, and even visiting other countries.
We met six years ago and married in 2004. Spiritually, emotionally, and financially, we are ready to expand our family and welcome a child into our lives. The past two years have been difficult ones for us as we discovered, despite many medical procedures, we were not able to conceive. One of the things we discussed before we got married was adoption as a possibility in our future. Chad’s uncle and one of our nieces were both adopted, so we have seen first hand how wonderful adoptive families can be. Our families and friends have supported us through our difficult time, and they are also excited and enthusiastic about our decision to adopt. Most of our friends have children and cannot wait for us to adopt so that our children can all grow up together.
Family, friends, and traditions are important to us, and we are looking forward to welcoming a child into our home to nurture and love in an environment that values God, the love of learning, and the belief that anything is possible. We can’t wait to pass down traditions of the “red plate” at the dinner table for doing something special, the refrigerator “spot of the week”, and how to make the perfect campfire s’mores!
We can only imagine the difficult choices you have been faced with, and we admire the unselfish decision you have made to place your child for adoption. Thank you for taking the time to consider us as potential parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this process and know that faith will guide you to find the right match for your child.
Love, Lisa and Chad
