Kevin and Shannon

Dear Birth Mother,

We thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us as you make this difficult decision. We can't begin to imagine what you must be going through, but to us you are a very brave and thoughtful person for considering adoption, so that we can have a baby of our own.

We are Kevin and Shannon. We have been happily married for over seven years. We have been together over eight years. We met at a TFI Friday's and hit it off and quickly became the best of friends. With the years we have grown and learned together and we are still going strong. We have two dogs and one cat. Zeus who is a lovable 5-year-old Rottweiler and Ashley who is a sweet, playful chow mix, and last but not least Pita who is a fun and adventurous kitty cat.

We both work. Kevin is in the Navy and Shannon works with Enterprise which is a family oriented company, doing their accounts receivable.

Both of us are very close to our parents and families even though we don't live as close by as we like. We take planned vacations to see them throughout the year and they come to see us. Kevin and Shannon talk on the phone with both sides of the family to keep family members updated on what is going on in their lives. Both sides of the family were happy and supportive to hear that we wanted to adopt.

Holiday traditions and family vacations are important to us. We often get together with our extended families for large family dinners at Thanksgiving, at Christmas and at Easter. Kevin's family comes to see us at Thanksgiving then we go and see Shannon's family for Christmas, each year it changes so that everyone gets a different holiday. At Easter we love to get together in Delaware to visit Kevin's grandmother, as Shannon's grandparents are no longer living.

As parents, our goal is for our children to be healthy and happy. We will provide them with opportunities to pursue education, activities and careers that they enjoy and find fulfilling. Both of us value education and after-school activities. Kevin played football during high school. He also likes paintball; online gaming and building model cars. Shannon played softball during middle school. She also likes to scrap book, play strategy games and read a good book. We both also enjoy fishing, camping, going to the movies and riding our bikes in the woods together. We believe that education is very important as well as parental support, encouragement and most of all love to our children's growth and development.

We also recognize that you, the birthparents, are very important to our child. We will openly share the adoption process with our child and will share as much information about you as you wish.

In closing, we are so very excited about the opportunity to become parents. We thank you for considering us. We will take the trust that you place in us very seriously and will make sure that your child knows that he or she is dearly loved.
