Dear Birth Mother:
Let us start with saying thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves. We cannot imagine the feelings you must be experiencing in making one of the most important decisions you will ever be faced with it. It is such a selfless act you are making and we, as well as the other families hoping to adopt, thank you for making this very hard decision!
The Journey Begins
We met at a fundraiser for a local arts community. They say that when you meet your soul mate you immediately know. It is amazing that it can happen that way and we are living proof. Upon first laying eyes on each other we both now are amazed that we knew from that moment on we would be in each others lives forever!! A year and a half later we were engaged and now we are living a wonderful fairytale life together.
Our Home
We live in a lovely community. Our home is located in a wooded lot in the middle of a cul-de-sac. Directly in our back yard we have access to nature trails and a designated hiking oasis. We enjoy our relaxing wilderness haven and share our land with abundant wildlife. We have a spunky four-legged dog-daughter Lucy that we absolutely love. Lucy was adopted from Angels of Assisi in December 2008 and quickly became a member of our family. We are both outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy travel and exploration. We are active members of our church and offer a loving home!
About Us!
Jay is an attorney for the State of Virginia. It is so refreshing to see the energy and belief he gives to ensuring that everyone gets the fair representation they deserve! Jay is the type of person who walks into a room and immediately everyone is drawn to him. He has a genuine openness and acceptance of EVERYONE! He is very warm and makes you feel validated! Jay would be such an awesome dad!! He has this unending energy that will give a child attention, support and all around complete love and acceptance. Jay comes from a family with 2 brothers. Both brothers each have a daughter and a son ranging in age 1 to age 7. Jay’s nieces and nephews are so excited at the prospect of having another family member to make memories with. Jay’s parents remain happily married after 44 years together and are so supportive of their grandchildren and are looking forward to having another one to spoil!! Jay’s mom is a locally celebrated artist with more energy than most children you will meet! Jay’s dad is a retired doctor who enjoys golf, tennis and playing with his grandchildren. Jay’s parents and one of his brothers live locally and they are all active in each others’ lives. His other brother lives just a couple of hours away and is a teacher, meaning his summers and holidays are always free to bring his kids around for awesome family get-togethers!
Amy is a Human Resource Manager for a mental health supports agency. As part of her duties Amy is a Mental Health Clinician where she is responsible for providing mentally ill individuals support to keep them living independent in the community. Amy is one of the most loving and wonderful people anyone could ever meet. She has the amazing ability to work hard at her job and yet ALWAYS be there for the needs of her family and friends. No matter how stressful things might get with work or life, Amy never complains and finds a way to make everything go the best way it can. Amy has a sister and two brothers. Her sister has 3 boys ranging in age from 11 to 16. Amy’s nephews are very talented both musically and in sports and look forward to having a niece or nephew to share their talents with. Amy’s brothers live locally and have a lot to offer as uncles as they are very hands on with their nephews by being supportive of their interests. Amy’s parents own a toy store and are excited about having a new family member to grow with. Her dad is a big kid himself and guarantees hours of fun and entertainment at every family event for kids of all ages. Amy’s mom is a beautiful, thoughtful and creative woman with one of the biggest and warmest hearts anyone could ever hope to find. Almost every holiday and birthday is spent with our families, and that’s how it will remain.
Together we have a wonderful life to offer your child. We live our lives to be an advocate for those in need and we look forward to having a child to support and grow with. We balance each other out so well! We have such supportive, loving families and we look forward to sharing this with our child!!
The Future
The two of us love to learn, travel and explore. We are looking forward to having a child to share our love of adventure with. We promise to offer a future of excitement and exploration. We are very open and will be so supportive of any road our child decides to follow. Whether it be by hard work or good fortune (we’re not sure ourselves!) we have been able to build a life of financial security, spiritual and emotional happiness, and a whole lot more free and flex time than most couples could ever dream of. In other words, the child we are lucky enough to find will not only have the comforts of a warm and stable home, but parents who have plenty of time for his or her fun and needs and the desire to spend that time just that way!
