Do you have room in your home and in your heart to share your love with an infant or toddler who needs a temporary home?
Foster care is a temporary arrangement where an infant or child is cared for by a nurturing family while permanent plans are made. Birth parents use this time to make decisions regarding their children’s futures, as well as their own. Foster care may be used while legal steps are completed to release a child for adoption.
We feel strongly that every child has the right to a permanent family where he or she can be loved and develop to his or her full potential. This includes children from all racial heritages and children with special needs.
A child’s stay in foster care with Children’s Home Society is several days to a few months. This is well below a national average measured in years. While “average” means that some children stay longer than others, all our children are placed in a permanent home as quickly as possible. Learn more about Foster Care Requirements.
