Foster parents are needed to provide temporary care for infants & toddlers

Children’s Home Society of Virginia will provide training, the required foster care home study, and ongoing support for our foster families. 

Requirements for foster parents…      
  • Must have a loving and nurturing home environment that is smoke-free.
  • If the foster parent is married, he or she must be married for three or more years.
  • The parents must be at least 25 years old.
  • One parent must be at home at all times.
  • An agency-approved pediatrician must be used for medical care.
  • The foster parents are responsible for taking the child to the doctor for routine checkups and sick visits.
  • The parents must be able to take a child of any age (infancy to preschool) and of any racial heritage or sex.
  • The foster parents must have an agency-approved home study and meet other state licensing requirements.
