Waiting Families
Danny and Merry
Dear Birth Mother,
Hi, we are Danny and Merry. We are so happy that you have taken the time to read more about us and our desire to build our family through adoption. You are taking a loving and courageous step as you are considering adoption for your child. We sincerely respect you and the selfless choice you are making to give your child life. We are a very happy and fun couple, but we are missing one thing, a little one to share our love, encouragement, home and family with. After trying for several years to become pregnant, we visited doctors to try to get answers to why we were being unsuccessful at conceiving. After a month or so of multiple fertility tests (some very painful), we were heart broken to find out that we were medically infertile and we would not be able to conceive on our own. After lots of tears, some deep soul searching and many prayers, we were led to adoption. We have several family members and wonderful friends who we would not know and love today if it was not for adoption.
About Merry (by Danny)
When I set my eyes upon Merry the first time, I knew I wanted to know more about her. I struck up a conversation and about a week later we were eating lunch together on our first date. That was about 9 years ago and she continues to “catch my eye”. We have lots of fun talking and laughing and just enjoying the simple things in life. One of the simpler things we enjoy together is music. We both love all kinds of music. There is no doubt in my mind that Merry will be the best mother ever. She is loving, self confident, organized, unselfish and hard working; not to mention very beautiful inside and out. These are some of the qualities that made me want to spend my life with her. She also has a passion and a talent for decorating; so much so our family has tagged her with the nickname ‘Martha Stewart’. When she is not organizing, cleaning or decorating our home, she might be spending some “girl time” with her close group of girlfriends. She also possesses a great sense of humor. She is very passionate about her job and work and has worked for the same financial institution for almost 12 years. My immediate family has a great love for her. She is not an “in law” family member, she “is family” to them. The traits that she possesses will be priceless to a growing child. I can not wait for the day to start raising a beautiful family with her.
About Danny (by Merry)
When Danny and I met while out with mutual friends, he made me think, “Hummm, I think I want to know more about this guy. He has got the best of my curiosity!” After about a year of dating, we started getting into more serious talk, marriage. About 2 ½ years after we met, we were married. He is my best friend and the greatest blessing in my life. We have been married almost 6 years now. We love to laugh and have fun together and we love to travel. We have been fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to such places as Cancun, Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Martin, Bahamas, Las Vegas and Key West. Danny is a fun, loving, caring, hard working, providing, family oriented man. He enjoys a good laugh and you can not be around him most days without getting in a laugh yourself. He is good for a funny story or a joke any day of the week. His laugh is contagious and he has a great big smile to go along with it. At family events, you never know if you will find him with the adults or playing out back with the kids (kids love him!). He takes great pride in his career as an Engineer/Project Manager and in his personal landscaping business. He comes from a wonderful family; a very large family that includes a mom, dad, sister, grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Danny has a strong faith in God and Jesus Christ. He enjoys the outdoors and activities such as farming a garden, landscaping, working on tractors and farming equipment, fishing and hunting. I know Danny will be the greatest Dad to a child.
We live in a great diverse community about 30 minutes outside of the city in central Virginia. Our community is known for its great schools, libraries, parks, sporting events, and shopping areas. We even have a local zoo just around the corner. We live in a development with other houses and neighbors, but we are also some what secluded at the same time; living on about 2 acres of land surrounded by lots of trees. We live in a 3 bedroom; spacious open floor plan home with lots of unfinished space upstairs for a growing family. We have a nice outside living area that includes a deck, patio and large fenced in back yard. We enjoy lots of cookouts and family/friend outings in this area. We share our home with our dog Sasha and our cats Buddy and Jade. They are known to all as our “furry children”.
If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to love, nurture, and teach your child in a safe and secure environment. We will teach your child about God and the Christian faith. We will teach them the importance of being a strong member in society, the importance of education, a good work ethic and the importance of family. We have many family and friends who are excited to share these same opportunities with your child. We will also share with him or her; their adoption story and tell them how special and caring you are to have given them this life opportunity.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us. We are very excited to become parents and raise a family together. Not knowing how hard this journey must be for you, we know you will make the best decision for your baby’s life.
Warmest Wishes,
Danny and Merry
